You Are Being Programmed for Misery and Pessimism
Be careful what you consume because it determines your worldview, beliefs, assumptions, and whether you are happy or miserable.
A weekend with my extended family
While I love them all dearly, it always strikes me how we live in entirely different realities. They are the “normal” people, the masses, the glued-to-TV believers, the frightened, obedient citizens who spend all their time lamenting what is wrong in this world and whining about everything they can think of. It saddens me to see the self-imposed misery and negativity.
I find things they consume all day long absolutely unacceptable, annoying, stupid, and pure voluntary brainwashing that results in a state of perpetual misery, pessimism, and heartache.
It’s pure suffering for me to watch it even one time. They watch at least 1-2 hours of TV news and 1-3 hours of commercials daily. Then they complain about everything for an additional few hours. For someone who is aware of what that does to your mind and your world, this is pure madness!
Do you have any idea how much programming that is?
You know affirmations, right? Repeating phrases to reprogram your subconscious mind. What kind of affirmations do “normies” (I say this with love) absorb daily for decades?
Here are a few affirmations they are exposed to and absorb from the news:
I am always in danger.
Crime, accidents, and disease are everywhere.
Every day someone gets raped, shot, stabbed, robbed, or murdered.
Everything is hopeless, and the world is going mad and getting worse by the day.
People are horrible!
Evil is everywhere around me.
Everybody gets sick all the time.
Horrible things happen to everyone.
War is everywhere, and we’re in grave danger.
There is only suffering in this world.
Everything is dangerous, and every day, people die doing the most mundane of activities.
If you consume TV news, and it’s not much better on social media unless meticulously curated, you are brainwashing yourself into misery, pessimism, and unhappiness! That is a fact!
“Yes,” I hear you arguing, “but it’s all true! People are getting sick, suffering, dying, and are victims of accidents and crime all the time. The world is a dark place, and evil is everywhere. Everything is hopeless!”
You’ve been brainwashed
Here’s a little secret. It’s not true. Not at all. The world is just fine and getting better all the time. (with a few ups and downs along the way)
Yes, bad things happen (they always have), but in absolute terms, we live in the best time in history. We enjoy more safety and have more access to healthcare, prosperity, and peace than ever before. There are record low levels of hunger and poverty in the world. Despite the propaganda, even the environment has been on the uptick for a while now.
Things are improving objectively, but your perspective is twisted as you focus only on the bad and ignore the good. This, dear friend, is a recipe for perpetual misery, victimhood, and suffering.
What about the innocent commercials?
Not innocent at all! The constant barrage of repeated commercials (I counted at least 5-10 times the same commercial every hour) brainwashes you in order to sell to you.
Commercials are an affirmation of:
I am not enough. (very problematic affirmation)
I don’t have enough.
To be satisfied, happy, healthy, and enough, I must buy “this.”
“This” brand is superb, and you will choose it over another (influencing your purchasing decisions).
These commercial affirmations, while not as hurtful as the news programming, instill you with a sense of lack and inadequacy. They fuel your desires and plant fresh needs into your subconscious mind. Consequently, you can’t be happy or complete unless you get what they are selling.
Yes, Instagram and similar delusional social media have a similar effect on your mind. As does X (Twitter) regarding making you feel that the world has gone mad and is in utter and complete decay.
It’s called “being informed”
Fine. Do what you want, but don’t pretend that it’s all innocent and you’re just staying informed. You’re not. You’re being brainwashed into thinking what the programmers want you to think. There’s very little information of value there.
Why do they want you scared and miserable?
Because that’s easy money, through ads and through selling your attention to the higher bidder. A happy and content user isn’t nearly as profitable as you are.
Ask yourself:
How do I benefit from watching the news and all these commercials?
How does watching it make me feel?
Is being miserable, cranky, and pessimistic worth “being informed” about every single instance of suffering in this world?
Do I want to invite more of “this” (feelings and events) into my life or less?
Here’s only massive part of reality you fail to recognize:
You can’t control your world and stop the suffering of other people. You only control your mind and your choices.
You’re not helping anyone by watching them suffer, nor are you safer for hearing about people who got hurt. There is zero benefit but a horrible price to pay!
Here’s another, but you’re probably not ready to hear it:
You determine what happens to you by your mind’s content, beliefs, assumptions, and words. Those are fueled by what you consume (programming).
If you consume only darkness, darkness will begin to consume you. If you focus on the good in your life and the world, more good will appear in your view and life.
Choose carefully and deliberately
Don’t let algorithms and attention economy incentives determine the content of your mind and, with it, the quality of your life!
Do not believe all you see on TV. Always keep in mind that the internet algorithms feed you more of what you interact with, which in no way represents an objective state of affairs. It just feeds on your desires, rage, pain, and fears.
You are being played like a puppet, and you don’t even know it!
